Funded by the towns of Waitsfield, Warren and Fayston, MRVRD received 17 grant applications seeking a total of $79,377 in funding for 2025. With careful consideration and to spread support among as many worthy organizations as possible, MRVRD will spend $55,298 on grants in 2025, up from $49,023 in 2024.
Do you love to recreate in the Mad River Valley? The Mad River Valley Recreation District (MRVRD) is looking for two volunteers to serve on its Board of Directors: one at-large position starting immediately and another person who must live in Warren and be approved by the Warren Select Board starting in January 2026. Board members attend monthly meetings (third Tuesday of each month) and dedicate some additional time to MRVRD's work. Join a friendly and passionate team of Valley residents and an Ex. Director who work together to advance the MRVRD's mission to enhance the quality of life in the Valley through recreation. If you are interested contact laura@mrvrd.org.
Mad River Valley recreation and conservation non-profits and volunteer led efforts in these focus areas should apply by November 1, 2025 if they are seeking grant funds from MRVRD. It is a reimbursement program and grants typically range from $500 - $5,000. Only online grants will be accepted, see the link below. Read more about our grant program here.
The Mad River Valley Recreation District (MRVRD) is warning their annual budget hearing for Tues., Nov., 18, 2025 at the Wait House conference room, 4061 Main Street, Waitsfield, VT, 6:30 pm. MRVRD is requesting level funding from the three full-member towns ($40,000 per year per town: Fayston, Waitsfield and Warren) and $20,000 from Moretown, which officially becomes a half-member as of January 2026 per the successful vote by residents in March 2025. The proposed draft MRVRD Budget for 2026 is approximately $140,000.
